この物語は、古代魔術士見習い「ルセウス」の冒険譚である。
「城塞都市ライザス」に住む主人公ルセウスは
大魔導士バジーのもので魔術を学んでいた。
バジーに師事していたルセウスは
ある日、「王都ララバルへ行き、宮廷魔術士になる」という夢を抱く。
「宮廷魔術士」になるため、ルセウスは師匠のもとを仲間とともに旅立った。
ルセウスたちの旅が、いま始まる。
