契丹国というのは、西暦1000年頃に存在していた国で、いまでいう中国の北部、モンゴル、ロシア沿海州のあたりを領有していた国のことです。

水滸伝に出てくる遼と同じ国で、時期によって国号が違っています。

好きな国なのですが、日本語訳された史料はほとんどなくて、それがこの値段で買えるというのはお買い得でした。
