It's another wonderful beautiful painful work from ラミナプラネットさん! The setting of the story is the same, so I think you'll be able to enjoy it as standalone like previous works.
They always bring great stories and create good dynamics between characters, hence I really enjoyed this series, so, so much. 土門熱さん's acting as 羽水くん is also amazing, he made 羽水くん so lively. He just nailed it with a character who's tied to the theme of "lies." Whether he's lying or telling the truth, you'd never know until the very end. I felt like crying hearing his performance, both out of sadness and joy.

羽水くん grew up in a family of politicians where people usually wear a mask facing each other, to him, it's a world full of lies hence it’s not hard to understand his nature of being friendly to everyone but not giving heart to any. When he was selected as the candidate, they spent some time together at his private villa. He openly asked what she would do if everything he told her was fake but he brushed it off as one of his jokes. During the vacation there, they deepened their bond. She learnt more about him, and he offered her nothing but romantic gestures and words full of love in return.
Heroineちゃん fall for him already and she couldn’t stand it when he’s surrounded by girls. He knew that and comforted her since he’s busy with the practice for the concert. He promised that he’d try to be with her more often after and asked for a reward if he was able to do his best. Such a sweet and earnest person who treated her nicely so far, so how could she not trust his kindness and fell in love? The day after the concert, they made love to each other, claiming their feelings were mutual. It was truly beautiful.

On the day of selection, she was told the final rule by him. She was worried but he assured her that she’d be the only one he wanted. He’d “choose” her rather than the position of king. His words and embrace were so comfort,
but if only his words were true.

As expected, it was a lie. He’s lying. I won’t say much about the end but it’s bittersweet. Even if he comes out, apologizes, and asks for a reunite of the relationship, will you truly be able to forgive him and move on?
Will your wounded heart be mended?
Will you be sure that he won’t lie anymore?
