Pick Up !Great shooter, worth it's tiny price easily

Note: All the menus and tutorials are in English (hurray!) Also, I would heavily recommend to play this game with a controller (XBox360 controller worked perfectly with no configuration required).

This game was a very nice surprise. It's a competent overhead shooter with a lot of options: you have a lot of variety of upgrades you can pick, and you can customize both your shots and bullets, as well as upgrades. The gameplay is pretty fun and it gets frenetic later on.

The game is not easy: however, grinding your way up to success is possible, and you keep your accumulated money (souls) when you die and can continue from the current stage so losing is not a big problem.

On the H-side, you have some scenes with decent art when you finish a main stage (each stage is comprised of 5 levels). It's not animated, but the quality is good. There's a lot of dialogs during those scenes, but since it is in Japanese I cannot commment on it's quality or content. I personally consider the gameplay to be the main attraction of this game.

This game is cheaper than most, yet it's one of the better games I purchased on DLSite. I heartily recommend this game: don't let its low price fool you regarding its quality!

One for the bullet hell fans out there

Very rarely do you see a bullet hell game with erotic elements, but Dragonia is one of them.

You play as a dragon girl, Feene, who has to fight through wave after wave of enemy dragons. Instead of being a vertical scroller, Dragonia is a free-roam overhead shooter where you can move and fire in any direction. In each stage, you have to destroy a certain number of enemies to make the boss appear. By collecting SOULs from defeated enemies, you can upgrade your life, shot power, or unlock different types of shots, bullets, and skills. There are many different combinations and thus many different ways to play the game depending on one's personal preferences. This is the game's biggest strength.

The game, like any good bullet hell shooter, is challenging. You only have one life and it's game over once your health reaches zero. Feene moves slowly compared to the enemies and their bullets and she starts off very weak, so the player will die plenty of times until he can work out each boss's attack pattern. Luckily you can continue a stage as many times as you like, and you get to keep whatever SOULs you've managed to get up to that point to unlock upgrades before trying again. Still, you get the sense that the game balance is a bit off and it gets monotonous after a while.

The music and in-game graphics are satisfactory. As for the erotic scenes, which you get after each stage, they're beautifully illustrated even though they're small in number.

Dragonia is an interesting shooting game that's also surprisingly inexpensive. The overhead free-roam and skill/shot combination systems are pretty unique, but the game is also let down by a somewhat unbalanced difficulty and an erotic side which feels very small compared to the rest of the game. If you're a fan of shooters, you may want to give this a try.
