Pick Up

Balanced but sub par

Sep/11/2016  By Mercury Top Reviewer: Top500 Verified Buyer

This one of the best and worst games i have which makes it hard to put this review into words.
First the h animations are wonderfull and there is a wide verity for each "enemy" that you would face. I am not sure on the exact number of animations per character but i have seen 3 for the first one you meet.

Where this game really lacks is the background artwork. With alot of work put into the animations and sound effects one would think the other cisuals on screen would be just as important, however they severly lack with only a silloette and a gray scale color seperating the background frim the foreground.

I would still recomend this game with multiple levels and a straight through approch making it simple to play

Worth

Loved it!

It's one of the greatest adult side-scrollers I have ever played while still providing a lot of fun and challenge in every level. It's very well balanced and yet quite challenging at the same time. The game also has amazing scenes for everey enemy in the game (18 scenes in total) and has ten great game-over scenes.
If you're looking for a great game with good visuals, you should definitely consider buying this game.

Side scrolling zombie H

Dec/24/2017  By H.Deville Top Reviewer: 6th Verified Buyer

"Virus Z" appears to have been circle Smaverick's first attempt at producing a hentai game, and it's a decent start.

Going for the zombie outbreak trope, "Virus Z" sees protagonist Nina packs a pistol with a choice of ammunition, and a blade for close encounters. The moveset is limited, but is only as complex as it needs to be.

There is a persistent leveling system, so even if you die your progress carries over. In turn, this makes grinding very easy to exploit - play the game for long enough and you will find yourself pretty OP.

This isn't a dealbreaker though. The game looks good and performs well.

Fun game, worth a look

Keywords the reviewer selected :

This game is on the slower side with movement and attacks, but the gameplay is simple.. reach the end while avoiding obstacles and shooting/slashing monsters and infected people. Animation and sprites are pretty good as well as the cg endings, but the sound is very one note and doesn't really have much variety to it so it gets very tedious to listen to. Attacking is a little stiff, especially with shooting the gun. Rest of the game operates on a basic rpg system and point A-B levels, simple but you do have to work your way through the stages to get more money.

Pleasantly Surpised

Oct/22/2017  By Cranberry Verified Buyer

Loved it!

Having picked up this game on a whim at a low sale price my expectations were fairly low. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and found myself playing to the end (a couple hours through).

I feel as if the game is balanced nicely compared to many in the same genre. Such games tend to either be arbitrarily difficult or pointless cakewalks. This game falls somewhere in the middle. Though the game play is characterized largely by grinding, there were several instances where I found my reflexes were tested. Fun crept through somehow. Surreal.

The art's quite decent (though the background art leaves something to be desired). Sound design was ultimately pleasant. The enemy types are neat and the game over animations for each are lovely. You'll be seeing them the first few times you inevitably get one-shotted. The in-game gallery can only add to the experience.

As a matter of course however, the game gets repetitive rather quickly. Luckily for the game however, it runs only about two hours including grinding for experience. Not quite long enough for the enemy types and animations to lose their appeal.

All in all it's a pleasant experience. It wasn't an ecstatic experience that made me rethink my life, but it was reasonably appealing and fun. Pick it up if you like zombies, the side-scrolling genre, and don't mind a bit of a grind.

Try and nab it on sale though. I don't think it would have been worth it for me otherwise.

Chore of a game with some nice animations

Apr/11/2017  By Ex-member Top Reviewer: Top200 Verified Buyer

This is obviously based on Parasite In City, but with a metagame (i.e., a system for upgrading your character) and a different graphical style.

The controls are clunky and slow to respond, which reduces the actual gameplay to a tedious grindfest. Higher difficulty levels do not increase the challenge of the game—they just increase the difficulty of tolerating the gameplay.

Enemy diversity is low, and no variety in tactics is required, so new enemies don't pose a new threat so much as they offer a smidge of new erotic content.

Speaking of which: the gallery allows you to review unlocked game over animations if you like the art style—this protagonist does not especially suit my tastes—and the game contains a feature similar to the "omake" found in Parasite in City. So there's at least some decent erotic content, if not necessarily enough to compensate you for your trudge through the game.

Due credit to the developer, though: they were thoughtful enough to provide direct access to the configuration files that control the balance of the game, so you can adjust the slog to your heart's content.
