VARPG 2 is an excellent improvement over the last VARPG. It appears that some of the criticisms of the previous title have been worked on, which means the developers pay attention. Notable good improvements are special boss encounters, usually featuring a much tougher version of the regular mobs with their own cinematics, a more complex item and upgrade system, you now travel with one of two possible partners who are also capable of being eaten. And generally the monsters are a lot more diverse in nature, with many more cinematics to deal with each one.

The game isn't perfect though. If you didn't like the formula of the previous game then it's pretty much the same hack and slash element...with rendered cinematics showing your characters demise when their health falls to zero. Some of the cinematics feature collision detection errors which are difficult to ignore. And despite your partner being eaten all the time, the only cinematics are for your own character.

Huge kudos to the voice actresses in this title. They definitely give (from a non-Japanese speaker's perspective) a greater sense of terror and fear than the previous game. And generally the audio is very good at setting each scene at it evolves.

Also interesting, is that the vore cinematics in this game feature a lot more tentacle's than in the previous. This usually features your character being held in place and penetrated (though censored), while in the creatures stomach. It's a very nice addition and doesn't feel too overused, and doesn't break the theme. My advice is, if you enjoy vore, buy this game! Don't miss this one.
