This month our interview features the cricle Ason who creates great RPG "Succubus' Basket - I was abducted and made a cumpet -"!! We hope you enjoy the read!

1. Thank you so much for this interview! To start things off, could you please introduce yourself to the DLsite.com users?

Greeting! I'm Ason. It's great that I can share my thoughts through this interview with everybody.

2. How did you come up with your Circle's name "Ason"?

The truth is that by combining two Japanese words "oane ashi," we created such a name "Ason." Pronunciation wise, this name is irregular as a Japanese word. My friend named this for me. Back then, I didn't think I am going to use this name, but I found that Ason also has the meaning "A son." I feel like I am taking care of my product as raising my son.

3. What led to becoming a professional creator? Was there something that specifically triggered your desire to begin as a creator?

I do not call myself a professional creator, but that would be my goal.
I always wanted to be a part of the team which making good games with passion. As I walked through the valley of struggle, I suffered from a lot of frustrations which was really hard to describe. This small achievement gave me some faith to continue to work with new partners. To make our dreams come true, we will keep trying to bring better products to you.

4. Why did you select DLsite.com to market your product?

People around me sell their products on DLsite.com and shared their experience with me. That encouraged me to try this site.

5. Have you ever purchased any products from DLsite.com? If so, who is your favorite artist/creator and what are your favorite products?

Yes! Most of the products I bought were femdom type. I got a lot of ideas from them and use them for my products. I also bought some materials for creating my games. I always choose the game I like. It's too hard to pick one as my favorite.

6. So far, you have one product released on DLsite.com. Prior to your success on DLsite.com, were you involved as a contributor to other Game/Anime?

Prior to DLsite.com, I have tried several projects with others, but we did not complete anything. This game was my first completed product.

7. "Succubus' Basket - I was abducted and made a cumpet -" is a huge hit in DLsite.com Japanese; many users are enjoying it. For those who have not yet played it, please tell us about what they will see and can expect on this product?

Players can find not only "Battle Fuck" but also more interesting stuff in this game. I've added some special scenes which I think the players would find some surprise and enjoy the whole story.

8. "Succubus' Basket - I was abducted and made a cumpet – "is highly rated. The users on both Japanese and English sites value the quality of the game. Have you read all the reviews?

I've not only read all the reviews on DLsite.com, but also on the other webs. These reviews mean a lot for me. I think the reviews lead more people to get interested in my product. Also, the reviews encourage me to continue my work. What frustrates me the most is a language barrier. Most of the reviews mention the quality of the Japanese translation of my product. I still working on this problem. I will try to find the way to fix it.

9. What was the biggest challenge on creating this game?

This might be ridiculous, but I think the biggest challenge is finding my partner.
Finding a good partner whom I can fully cooperate with is as hard as finding a good wife.
I believe that one day, I can find an ideal partner who has the same will as me to make a good product.

10. From where do you draw your greatest inspiration to create your product?

I get great inspirations from real popular games on DLsite.com. The most performances on my game were inspired from these popular games. Since my product has some essence from these popular products, the players can enjoy those through my product but lesser the cost.

11. Do you have any plan for adding English translation to this product?

Currently, I don't have enough resource to add English translation to the first product. But I already have a plan for it to the next product. (I have a person who helps me with English translation, and he helped me with this interview as well.) I hope I could make a good progress on everything!

12. Your information tells that you reside in Taiwan. Is DLsite.com well-known among the fans of Japanese pop-culture? Please tell us the awareness of DLsite.com in Taiwan.

In my opinion, DLsite.com is still an inexperienced platform for the fans in Taiwan. Some of the Japanese pop-culture fans may have already known it but not all of them use it. Recently, Taiwanese version of DLsite.com has lunched. Taiwanese game makers have been increased and they reach out DLsite.com. But for some of them, the challenges of translation and high commission could be concerned factors, and these prevent them to use the platform. Managing distribution platform is a challenge for game makers. I think if DLsite.com gains more users, it may help the site with better development. The sight could be also more international.

13. What is the most important consideration when you are developing your products? What element is the most important to you?

I think the most important consideration is "feeling" which could touch the players in deep. The game may be simple graphic, without AAA performance or greatest gaming system. But if you could generate users' feelings through your game like a drama does, your game could leave a good impression to them.

14. What tools or software do you use when you are creating your products?

I used RPGmakerVA before, but I would try to use the RPGmakerMV for my new product.

15. How do you enjoy spending your time when you are not working? Do you have any hobbies or special interests?

Besides creating games, I work as a part-time to balance my budget. Most of the time, I stay home, work on my product and sleep. For creating new games, I have lost a lot of joyful things in my life. I still try to create new games though. I hope you will enjoy my new game.

16. So many users are enjoying your products, and they are curious what you have in the works for your next project. Can you provide a preview of what you are working on now for future release? Also, please let us know your goals for your future.?

My goal is to make a roguelike RPG game with Live2D. The main characters may have some vocals for a role play. I really hope I can release this product on time.

17. You have been so very successful in this field. Do you have any advice for new developers to help inspire them?

Although I don't think I'm successful enough to give any advice to others, from my experience, the critical factors for making a good and successful game is not the skills nor genius ideas, but the will in your heart. You will face a lot of challenges on the process and so much things might discourage you, but you still need to cheer up yourself. Do not lose yourself!
