公園で遭遇した野良ハムスターは、こぎたないお椀を巣にして暮らしていた! 友人のススメでそのハムスターを飼うことにした女子高生の舞ちゃん。お椀とともに家に連れ帰ると、ハムはトボけた顔をしながら自己主張はハッキリ! きれいなお椀や年代モノの丼を与えてもまったく気にいらず、慣れ親しんだお椀からはなれない。マイペースな行動に振り回されつつも、ハムとの生活に馴染んでいく舞ちゃんとその家族・ばあちゃんと姉ちゃん。ばあちゃんが「ハムちゃん」をききまちがえて、その名は「ハム茶」に! 宮崎を舞台に宮崎弁が飛び交うなか、ハム茶のちょっとシュールな日々がつづられていく――。
