ホラー界の残酷王・御茶漬海苔が日本の怪談に挑んだ怪奇＆スプラッタコミック！ 単行本未発表の『牡丹灯籠』『番町皿屋敷』の2編収録！ 『牡丹灯籠』は、「四谷怪談」や「皿屋敷」と並び日本三大怪談といわれる。中国明代の怪奇小説集「剪灯新話」に収録された「牡丹燈記」をベースに江戸時代末期に創作されたもので、三遊亭圓朝による落語の怪談噺として有名になった。お菊の亡霊が井戸で夜な夜な「いちまーい、にまーい... 」と皿を数えるシーンで有名な『番町皿屋敷』は、日本各地にある「皿屋敷」の江戸番町版。播州姫路が舞台の『播州皿屋敷』や出雲国松江の皿屋敷、土佐国幡多郡の皿屋敷などもある。
