1968年のメキシコオリンピックで金メダルを確実視されていた
大学ボクシング界の英雄・拝島猟は、大会を前に姿をくらます。
それは、彼の二つ違いの弟が暴力団のイカサマ博打で多額の負債を背負いこんだのが理由であった。
拝島の指をカタに借金をチャラにという条件であったが、
その約束も破られ、弟が通う大学に博打の件をバラされた。
大学を追い出された弟は、それを苦に自殺。
人生を狂わされた拝島は、暴力団への復讐のために、
いまや三界に身の置き所のない「さすらい獣」になったのである。
