父さんが再婚相手を連れてきた。
「ほら、どうした？ 新しいお義母さんに挨拶をしなさい」
「…………ども」
ボクは相手に目線を合わせないまま、小さく会釈をする。
このまま他人行儀を貫く……これこそがボクに出来る最大限の配慮だ。
心を開くつもりはない。どんなに仲良くなったとしても、いつかは離れ離れになってしまうのだから――。
「えっと……健喜くん、でいいんだよね？ 私の名前は《千早》です。その……せ、精一杯お義母さんとして頑張るから……っ！ 今日から、宜しくね……っ！」
しかし、その声を耳にした瞬間……ボクの心は大きく揺さぶられた。
ボクは思わず顔を上げ、相手を見やる。
