Nice game with simple polarity system

For those who are familiar with it, Reverse Twinkle has a polarity system and plays like a top view shooter/platformer. The polarity system, while simple, adds a nice change as there are bullets you can't absorb no matter the color you choose.

For those who are unfamiliar with the polarity system in such games, here's a brief explanation: The bullets as well as your own character switches between two different colors, in this instance, red and white. When your character is white, it will shoot white bullets as well as absorb the white enemy bullets. While in one color, you can only take damage from the opposite color and in turn, you also deal more damage to enemies of the opposite color.

The art in Reverse Twinkle is surprisingly good, such I did not expect from this game as it seems to have fallen quite below the radar. The gameplay itself is decent. Your character will shoot in the direction you are facing, which requires a bit of a learning curve, but you can, with the press of a button, lock towards a certain direction, which also slows your movement down. At any time during play you can switch between two characters, each of which have different speed movement and different attack patterns, which definitely enhances gameplay as one can switch out depending on the current situation.

The game also supports co-op play. I haven't had a chance to actually try it out, but it still is a nice addition and the controls for both players can be customized.

Overall, it's a nice game that didn't seem to get much attention. I definitely recommend it if you don't mind the cute graphics (I know some people think there's too many out there) and are looking for something a bit different, all while remaining simplistic. I highly recommend using a gamepad for this one as well. I usually play solely with my keyboard, but a gamepad definitely helps in Reverse Twinkle. One thing to note, I have yet to be able to make the 'replay' function work.
