I bought this collection because I needed a theme song for my visual novel. There are three folders. The first folder has 20 tracks where most are about a minute or longer. The second folder has 20 tracks as well, but many of the songs are under one minute which is why I gave the product a "4" (out of 5) overall. In the third folder, you get different renditions of one song. I think the karaoke tracks that it offers are a good bonus because you can use them to have a karaoke contest.

The trial folders provide a good representation of what you're buying, so you can always try before you buy to make sure it's the right product for you.

I bought this pack because I needed an indoor castle background, but I was a little worried that the scene would look like a 3D render as opposed to a 2D painted scene.

The images look better than the preview images, so I was happy.

There are a throne room, a hallway, a Japanese sitting / dining area, a game arcade (outside), a hallway in what looks like a hospital or maybe a school, a dessert, and a library. There's also an empty classroom. I'm not sure why they didn't put desks in it.

They also have multiple renders inside. So, they have morning, afternoon, and night, but they also have "lights off" at night and "lights on" (for the inside scenes).

The desert scenes also have some with and without moons.

I really think that Blue Forest has outdone themselves this time.

The armor is phenomenally well-done. It's glossy and shiny and the color is incredible.

If you have the "older brother" adult sprites from Blue Forest already, I think they will fit some of the male sprites, but for the women I'm not sure.

The weapons are pretty impressive as well. I can't imagine anyone rating this product with less than 5 stars for this price.

I downloaded the “Shouta” collection from Blue Forest as well as this one.

The download is packed with a large number of high quality sprites. It also comes with a bonus character creator which allows for more variation and additional characters, but if you can't read Japanese, it's kind of hard to figure out what you need to click on. This pack was particularly helpful for me because I can add a variety of ages to my game which really helps to bring a more complete experience to the user.

This collection is a little better than the Shota collection in my opinion in terms of quality.

My only complaint would be that a lot of the images are of the girls holding up their fists. I don't know why, but it looks like maybe you could add a balloon or ice cream cone to their hand if you wanted them to hold something.

This is another very well-done package by Blue Forest. There are lots of great images and different outfits for a variety of different scenes, but some of the boys haircuts are a little ugly and some of them look like girls. There are also bonus "stress", "cry", and other emotion marks included in the download. It's definitely a good buy if you need some younger male characters or “Shoutas” in your project.

If you are making an independent game project for an RPG, 2D fighter, or visual novel, you will likely be able to use some, if not most of these tracks. The tracks are usually about 2 minutes in length, and have enough variety to provide for a complete range of emotions and experiences.

Volume 4 seems a little more RPG oriented to me. Many of the tracks could easily be imagined on JRPG games for the Playstation 1, so they seem a little bit retro at this point. There are 10 tracks which range from being sad, upbeat, battle/action, RPG field (happy day/light). There is also one track which seems to have a Spanish playa (beach) feel to it.

Volume 5 is similar to volume 4. It contains what sound like RPG battles, a few motivational / positive tracks and an out of place organ piece which is great for me because I have one scene with a church in it. The instruments range from flutes, to organs, and even a drum or drum machine piece. There is also an eerie track if you need a piece of scary music for your game.

Volume 6 is a little bit different. It has one track which sounds kind of snake charmer like or Egyptian. It also has a few humor/gag/fool tracks which are good for any scenes if you have a character that is a buffoon or just need something for more light-hearted moments. It also has some upbeat/light tracks and one sad/melancholy one.

I ended up labeling a lot of the tracks because if you can't read Japanese, the names aren't going to be of much use to you. Ultimately, the pack should have enough material to make a complete game with a great atmosphere.

The only downside is that some of the tracks seem a little bit noisy to me. You can download the free trials at each of the available links to check each volume before you purchase the pack.

Overall, I would recommend this pack for any developer on an audio budget that needs to make a game.
