Column: A walkthrough guide of DLsite.com Part 4
This time, as promised, we would like to talk about the categories of our products!
They are presented by individual icons to give you some basic information about the products visually and instantly. But, our dear loyal customers of DLsite.com, can you tell how many icons we have?
Well, the answer is here!
As we have written in the previous part 3, most of the information on a product page are based on the submission from the circles.
Icons that we focus on today are the same, and all we do is correct or add them occasionally when reviewing the contents prior to the sales so that the presentation will be accurate.
As you can see here, all category icons are in green color, and attached to each product almost anywhere it is presented on our website.
The category icons show the essential nature of the product, while other icons are mostly associated with the file format; so be sure to check this icon first among others!
To check their location on the product information page, please check the previous Walkthrough Guide Part 3.

Usually, games are in application format (presented with the icon). As noted on the product information page, you may need to set Japanese font support on your PC to enjoy products in this format. This is especially important for products created with older versions of KiriKiri, a popular novel engine in Japan.
Also, some products may require special software to install separately, the most frequent ones being games created with RPG tkool. Please take note of Contents and Notice sections on the product information page, and try the trial version prior to the purchase if available :)
||This category covers everything - manga, software and game - that the circle (or DLsite staffs) thought classifiable in none of the categories listed in the above.
