Pickup!A few better decisions away from greatness

Obviously the game is a parody of an incredibly successful and well known fighting series that pretty much defined what we expect from 1-on-1 fighting games. I was hoping this title would do the same for H-games but it falls a bit short unfortunately. It's a good game and a lot of fun, however it's only good as a game and not so much on the Hentai part. Even as a fighting game it stumbles quite a bit with CPU fighters spamming projectiles endlessly and cheesing certain moves.

Like any respectable fighting game there are many different characters with their own moves and stats. There is actually a fairly impressive cast of fighters in the game. Where it falls flat on its face though is the fact that only half of them can do anything truly sexual. If you are going to make a game called "Strip Fighter" you might as well go the extra mile and have more stripping and sex. The Strip Combos are even disappointing in that it doesn't really strip the character for the fight, only for a few seconds (and sometimes not at all) which is really lame. Unless of course you finish your opponent with a Strip Combo on your second victory and THEN they finally get stripped and left open for some sex or, in half of the characters' case, absolutely nothing. And to make matters more confusing you have to do the Strip Combo AGAIN to end the match after knocking them into that status.

This really is a good game and if the demo floats your boat buy it for sure. A controller is highly recommended as well. I cannot imagine playing well with keyboard controls. The thing that irks me most about the game though is the terrible decision to not give all characters sex moves. Such wasted potential. It seems like they only finished half of the game and tossed it up for sale which is truly a bummer as the groundwork laid out could make for an excellent H-game.

Pickup!Evolution of the original

I got the original Stripfighter IV, and still occasionally play it ( must be some hidden masochism there) and StudioS has done a decent job.

What's right: 1)The additional characters. 2)I'll give them the addition of a few sexual assault moves for a few of the girls. 3)NOT messing with what worked right in the first game, the art and *most* of the game mechanics. 4) Making a superb, albeit far from perfect fighting game.

What's wrong: 1) Same as the first game, It STILL can't be that da*n hard to give ALL the characters some form of r*pe move. You've got the underlying framework, how hard can it be to give the victorious girl a strap on? I could see no reason to play story mode in the first one with anyone but Battle Slave S, and that carries over here which greatly reduces the replay value. 2) TURN DOWN THE FREAKING AI. At least make the difficulty more adjustable. I'm in my late 40's and never had superhuman reflexes in the first place. I don't mind having to repeat a level once or twice but around the tenth time I get the impression the game developer is just giving the customers the middle finger salute.3)Related to the AI issue, I find the controls a bit questionable. I know what keys I'm hitting. I have plenty of PC games that I've no trouble with. I can frequently hit a sequence and have it utterly ignored. To say nothing of having completed the sequence, have it start on the special move only it gets interrupted. And you bet your ass the reverse is NOT true. 4) The energy levels for the special moves/strip combos are no longer carried over. This is just petty and obnoxious.

Despite my laundry list of issues they've mucked up,If you liked the first one, you'll enjoy this one, even if it is a love/hate relationship. And if anyone from StudioS checks out any of these, Please bring more of your flash/browser based games over.

Pickup! What happened to Strip Fighter III anyway?

Super Strip Fighter IV builds on the original Strip Fighter IV game and adds a few new characters and ero-moves to the mix. We have the hideous fat vibrator-wielding otaku Jin, scant sailorfuku-clad Mari, busty M*i Shir*nui-look-alike Ran, small-chested martial artist Bell and her sex-changing twin Al, slimy harem girl Rana, rough and tough shadow-clone-using Sayaka, and the ero-maid Iku, along with all the females in nipple-baring outfits and the raging muscular rapist from the first game. A few characters also have "rape" moves, in which after they've shorn their opponent's clothes with a strip combo, they can proceed to have their way with the helpless opponent. Dominatrix Nina seems to be the only original character to get this new treatment (save for S, who already had these moves to begin with).

I liked the original Strip Fighter IV, so naturally I like this game. Everything there was to like about Strip Fighter IV is here: the graphics, the music, the moves, the responsive control and the humiliating nudity of opponents defeated by strip combos. But to me, there are some flaws. A few bugs in the game exist, like the Game selection in the options menu not working; I'm hoping they release a patch for the game to fix this. Also, for the new female characters, the strip combos seem to just tear most of their clothes off, unlike the originals who are rendered almost completely naked, which to me feels a little inconsistent and suggests this is the route they'll be taking with any future releases.

As to the game itself, it's a lot harder than the original. The game's AI is much less friendly in this game, meaning you need to keep playing and playing in order to beat it. I guess StudioS felt that their previous releases were too easy, or they wanted to expound upon the "Super" in the title and surprise gamers with an AI that delivers a beating. Even so, if you like hentai fighters, or just happened to like Strip Fighter IV... you want this game.

Pickup!Great game, medoicre erotic content

The gameplay is excellent for a doujin game. Better than some commercial fighters I've seen. It's not just a parody of the real SSFIV in name, it actually includes a lot of mechanics from that game including focus attacks, EX attacks, fall recovery, and Ultras. And the controls all work smoothly for all these mechanics. There's a pretty large character roster, with familiar move sets such that everyone should find a character or two that matches their style.

As for game modes, there's just Story mode, VS and Practice. VS doesn't even seem to allow for VS COM, so have to play Story mode for single player. The only real complaint I have for gameplay is the difficulty. The default AI is pretty dumb, but beating Story mode (it's only about 5 matches) puts you into a Hard mode survival against every character in the game. The AI here is MUCH more competent, but there doesn't seem to be any way to access this mode without playing through the Story mode levels first. A pretty glaring mistake IMO.

Unfortunately, the erotic content is ironically the weakest part of the game. The only real nudity comes when finishing a match using a characters Ultra move, which strips the opponent. You can then use a rape attack or just finish the opponent and end the match. The problem is, only a small handful of characters actually have a rape attack and even then the only female characters (in a mostly female cast) who have one don't have a lesbian variant. All in all, the erotic content feels like more a massive wasted opportunity than anything else.

In the end SUPER STRIP FIGHTER IV is the opposite of most hgames on this site; it's a geniunely good game, but not much of a hgame. It's worth getting, but only get it if you want a game, not fap material.
