A good pick

A fun little rpg, what really makes this, at least for me is the heroine. While she is technically a damsel in distress, she definitely isn't helpless. If you team up she helps you in fights and has some fun dialogue. Also loved the voice actress, did a great job. What also sold me on this was how there are simple but impactful choices you make (though there are only a couple), and how the heroine reacts.

I did like the combat animations, they were somewhat fun. However the game can get a little repetitive and the dungeon mechanic I was indifferent about.
Also what can be frustrating is the randomness to combat. You pick one of 4 covered cards/boxes, which are randomized 0-3. If you score higher, opponent will take damage. If you tie, no damage, and if you are lower you will take damage. The annoying part is how random it is. You can destroy an enemy in a couple of turns, or get destroyed despite having x3 the health because of bad picks.
Note that you'll very likely fail the first few times through, but you can then take exp you earned and upgrade the main character with either more damage or more HP for the next run.

Overall I really did like this game; loved the heroine and it kept me hooked enough to beat it multiple times (there are 2-3 different endings) even with the repetitive nature.
