Pick Up !Best zombie survial game in a long time

Jan/04/2016  By K-mon

I can't believe no one has written a review on this game yet, but I'll go ahead and be the first, and since this is the first review I've ever written, I want to say that I reserved it for the one game in a long time that really caught my eye.

As you can guess from the title, I'm a fan of the zombie game genre (one zombie/parasite/city game on this site in particular), and as I also mentioned in the title, this is the best game to come along since then. This is a plants/zombies-combined survival horror (with no blood or gore, of which I'm not really a fan). Some kind of infection has taken over the human race, turning most of them into different types of plant zombies - and the male ones are, of course, anxious to plant their seed.

The story is well-done and engaging (you have to leave your shelter because you're running out of supplies and find a new one to survive), and the game play is excellent - similar to Parasite in City in the since that you have a choice between melee combat (whacking the plant zombies with a pipe in this case) or shooting them with a handgun, and for this game you have the addition of being able to use Molotov cocktails.

It's challenging without being too difficult on the "easy" setting, yet pretty difficult on "normal" (I still haven't beaten the final boss on that difficulty setting). You can still unlock all the H scenes on "easy" though ("normal" and "easy" are the only two settings).

Also, your character can both lose clothing when she takes damage or you can actually make her take off her clothes bit by bit (in which case she gains health for each article of clothing she removes - which is a little bit of an odd way to do so, but whatever). There are also health packs, extra ammo and extra clothing you can find along the way.

Overall, I give this game a 9.5 out of 10 and am looking forward to further works from this author.

Solid side-scrolling Survival Horror

So, Anthophobia then. Okay, the premise would be highly dubious outside of porn circles, and isn't helped much by the ropey dialogue, but in terms of survival horror gameplay, Anthophobia truly shines.

Thought has clearly gone into this project. There are tricks and traps testing both your wits along with your trigger finger, there's a curious health system that makes a bizarre kind of sense in the context of the premise, and while the pixel art is not the most polished you will see, the animations give these sprites plenty of character. A solid piece of work.

Pick Up !Fantastic

One of the best H-games on the market, this game has a huge variety of enemy types, H-animations and levels. Each levels shows off a host of new enemy types, as well as areas to explore. The story for the game is quite interesting, can be seen through the backgrounds of each area as well as from listen to radio broadcasts.

The boss fights are also a real treat, often requiring some planning and skill to defeat them.

Pick Up !One of the few best H and gameplay games out there.

Without going into the story, the gameplay is really solid. Haveing a stamina bar really gives the game a challenge. There are even boss fights in the game. The healing aspect is interesting, ripping off clothes to patch up wounds. And haveing to be very careful with the plant girl that follows you to get items and take a hit for you. Playing the game on normal is a challenge. Just on the first level alone I got stuck midway and kept dying cuz there was so many enemies in the way and you had to be smart about it to get past it, sometimes even lucky. But it is fun and worth every penny.

Pick Up !Zombie Plant Fun!

This game is awesome! That's all there is to it.

A survival based game where you have to leave your current 'home' in search of supplies. There are tons of enemies, to fight or sneak past is up to you. You also find companions that will help you along the way, such as a woman who has become infected with the Zombie Plant virus. She likes bright glow sticks and will distract zombies for you. Very helpful and cute.

The game flows smoothly and the lighting in this game is amazing. If you die, you start back at the nearest checkpoint, and if the difficulty is too hard, you can switch it to easy mode.

Over 25 Pixel H Animations, and 12 Game Over CGs. The artwork is very well done and the sounds are superb.

A must for any survival horror/pixel art gamer.
