... or something like that. Yeah, it's that kind of game.

Nukige, much like fighting games, typically don't offer much in terms of plot. Normally, the absence of plot is absolutely okay since developmental effort and the player's attention are usually focused on the other parts of the game.

This is where Panty Kamen shines:

Nukige can come off as absolutely ridiculous. Panty Kamen doesn't try to change or challenge this, it wholeheartedly embraces it. It's wonderfully absurd, thanks to the sharp writing from softhouse-seal.

And it's not like our heroine Kiriko hasn't noticed this either: the absurdity of being a tokusatsu hero getting to the protagonist only makes this all the more interesting, especially once a new rival enters the ring.

Overall, I ended up enjoying Panty Kamen far more than I expected.

Other plus points include the gorgeous illustrations, as per usual of softhouse-seal, and the seiyuu of Kiriko and Kurusuria. An already solid writing job is made better when it's voiced well.

My only gripe is that the game is marked as having animation. That isn't to say there isn't, but there's honestly not that much, which is kind of a downer considering how simplistic(ly hot) Panty Kamen's outfit is. But really, this is more of a personal preference that doesn't change just how great this game is.

Again, it's strange. It's silly. It's surprisingly splendid. Panty Kamen is definitely worth your time and money.
