Pick Up !Nice Sprites

I love it when these gems pop up. Not much out there like it that I've played. There is some difficulty to get through the game, but not so hard that it becomes a boner killer. Granted, I've only played on easy... Animations are smooth and, as a rarity, you can decide how long they last! Additionally, the game is in English! Finally a fun story you can read to keep you playing.

Pick this game up if you'd like to play a 2D side scrolling H-games that has a fun story and great animation.

Pick Up !Short but worth it

This game is perfect for anyone just getting into the adult gaming world, as it provides a perfect example of how an English game is supposed to be in the fact that it offers all the aspects one searches for in an adult game. Though despite it being a well-made game it does have its short comings. The only weakness of the game is its length and difficulty... But still worth the price when you consider the artwork and style of gameplay.

Now, as for the weakness as previously stated, the biggest one is the game's length... it's short, really short. Will take you anywhere between 2-4 hours to beat. Another issue is the difficulty, as it's not something hard to beat, which touches back to the length issue.

Despite it all though, the game is very much something I'd recommend to anyone looking for a quick, fun, and attractive action game.

Colourful, solid sci-fi schlock

Vosmug's Xenotake tells a suitably schlocky sci-fi tale, and offers a decent amount of literal bang for your buck in both the H and action stakes, primarily handling like an old-school scrolling shooter with light exploration, i.e. travelling from A to B, but considering short detours C, D and E for the extra powerups. Eerien has enough moves to keep the action interesting, the dash and armour restoration keep things from getting too overwhelming. Further in, you get to control a remote droid adding a shmup/ light bullet hell feel.

The graphics are an effective, colourful mix of hand-drawn sprites and pre-rendered elements which you really need to see in motion to truly appreciate. The only downside is corridors in the individual sections look very samey, with few landmarks to help you get your bearings - to paraphrase a renowned YT game critic, *it would help to have a map*.

On the whole though, a good action title.

Pick Up !Great 1st Release!

There is a lot of potential in this game; the animation, music, gameplay, and surprisingly enough, even story were very enticing. Knowing that this is just the beginning of--hopefully--a long line of releases, makes me all the more excited.

As a word of advice to the creators I would say work on the sound effect of the females during the...sprite scenes. It tends to be overbearing and discouraging when their voice are blended together and cut off by each other during the faster paces. I apologize for referencing another game--as it might take away from the outstanding appeal of this game--I would say look at how "Witch Girl" does their female voice.

On another note, add some more variety to the sprite scenes as well, when special cinematic scenes end up being exactly the same as in-game scenes, it takes away from the appeal and excitement. "Oh, it's nothing new," sort of thing. I'm not saying they were all like that, and after all, the unique cinematic scenes were very good, it's just...variety is key here.

All in all I was very pleased to see that you did not sacrifice the storyline for the ulterior motivations of the game itself, in that not all enemies are out for only one thing. If anything, what drew me the most of this game was that it was actually a game, and not a quick-run through to unlock the gallery. I think I just about covered everything I noticed. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to a future release. :D

Pick Up !Good Game Good Story

Xenotake helps engage the player in a world that seems interesting and full of potential. Telling a story that exceeds what you'd expect from an adult game. Including great animations and fun gameplay. It also provides a decent challenge that keeps becoming gradually higher and higher until the final boss. The game has a small amount of guro, but only from when the character shoots an alien or something. It isn't anything that would cause someone to be turned off. Especially since it's minor and only really occurs with a few enemies.

Pick Up !Short but sweet

Just like every other review on this game points out, it is a great experience. I was honestly surprised as how much depth was put into this game. Lot of exposition on why you're being attacked and what every characters goals were. Animation was fluid, gameplay was sound and story was good, although at times you can easily get lost since there's a ton of backtracking in areas that don't always offer the best insight as where you should be heading next. Maybe having a map system could greatly benefit that detractor. Also at some point you change characters in the game but for being an adult game it kinda takes away from the overall value. I'd still recommend it to those who are looking to have a fun time.
