Travel back to 1989...

If you're a fan of the early 16-bit aesthetic, when sprites were still small but colour palettes had grown, Studio P's "Labyrinth of Holyma" is a title you will want to check out. The quality of animation even on sprites made up of relatively few pixels is something to behold.

As for the gameplay, "-Holyma" is an ernest throwback which, H scenes notwithstanding, wouldn't have looked out of place running on a T*rbo Gr*phx console. Fight creatures, gain experience, build up your stats. This is good stuff.

Quality All Around

Where to start...

This game is pretty darn good. The style of the game is Metroidvania. The game starts out linear but after you defeat the first boss the game becomes exploration heavy. The controls are good. Maneuvering the heroine is easy and fluid, and feels great. The music is also quite nice. The composer for this game definitely put in some work. The feel of the music is reminiscent of the old Megaman X games. Since I'm not a Japanese speaker, I can't say anything about the story, but there are certainly a lot of story events in the game, and given the quality of the rest of the game's aspects, I imagine the story is also top notch. Finally, the game has a good difficulty curve, and there are a lot of cool game mechanics that I won't spoil for you here.

Now for the hentai. There is certainly something in this game for everyone. Lots of vore too, which is nice for the people into that kind of thing (like me). There is also a gallery in game where you can view any h-animations you have previously seen. Some animations can only be obtained when your character is stunned, and every enemy has an animation, so be sure to collect them all.

I highly recommend picking this game up. As described above the game is of high make, and for the price you're practically stealing it.

Labyrinth of Holyma: a good sidescroller

Game was good and lasted me quite a while. It was pretty challenging, and although i didn't understand the story(i don't speak japanese, and there was no english version,) I could tell that they had actually put time into this game, from a story stand point. The corrupted girls, the holograms, the female rival that rescues you and you rescue, all of these are good elements. The sex scenes are also pretty well done.
