If you use armor properly and approach battles the standard way it's not difficult.
There are a number of strange monsters.
The monsters have weak points that you can exploit for smoother victory.

* Encounters: normal (you can escape 100% of battles that are not boss battles)

When you're annihilated you will respawn in the same general area.
For boss battles you will automatically warp to a safe area and respawn.

* Save any time, anywhere - use this feature!
* In the course of the story you will obtain a fast travel item.
* Gain magic/special skills by completing events, and by purchasing them
