Pick Up !An improvement over the first!

Another Hanafuda style card game. The gameplay is exactly like the first (as in, the twists are easy enough to figure out), but there are some huge differences.

The first is that the characters you choose as opponents have a "difficulty" level to them, instead of having to defeat every character a set number of times, each one needs a certain number to defeat based on clothing they wear.

The second huge difference is that the CG in the free mode is alot cheaper, and wont take you forever to purchase. There is more characters and more CG though!

A definite improvement over the first, and definately worth your attention. Pick this up!

Pick Up !A slight improvement over the first

A sequel to the first game, it's really more like an expansion pack. Like the first game, the core game is a slightly modified Hanafuda game. The gameplay seems to be completely identical to the first. Instead of playing to get the most points, the points you score break clothing on the opposing character. Once you break enough, you win and get some CG with that character. You also get money as well. In order to unlock CG in the gallery, you have to see it once and then buy the image. Thankfully, the designers clearly listened to complaints on the first and lowered the cost of unlocking images to more sane levels. The 'paper doll' mode is still there, which allows you to pick and mix clothing parts and take screenshots. As before, the AI plays decently enough and there's a mix of skill and luck that keep the game fun.

The main improvement over the first is the art quality. It's clearly drawn in higher resolution this time around, and the character designes look a look more attractive this time around. Sadly, this time you have to progress through the story mode before you can choose your opponent freely. The overall theme of the story mode is pretty light hearted. The protagonist is a Taru (it's all FF11 characters), so if you don't like the sound of that then avoid this. Overall, if you like card games and Hanafuda this is pretty entertaining game.
